iGreen

Duration: April, 1 2009 - December, 31 2012

Description

iGreen realizes a location-aware service and knowledge network for linking distributed, heterogeneous, public and private information sources. Mobile decision-making assistants with Web 3.0 technologies use this network in order to optimize and to support energy-efficient, economical, ecological and collaboratively organized production processes. At the same time, securing the individual data is especially important. iGreen offers standardized connectivity for the whole economic sector. Infrastructure and knowledge processes lead to an increased efficiency. First application field in the project is crop farming. Through collaboration with agricultural contractors and reputable manufacturers of agricultural engines, the developed systems will be proved in the practical application scenarios.

Goal

The AG ICSY of TU Kaiserslautern provides the service platform (Venice Service Grid) as well as the framework for developing new services. Already existing developments will be adjusted to the iGreen-requirements and further enhancements will be implemented. The specific focus is on scalability, security, accounting and monitoring.

Investors

This project is funded by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) (project label: 01|A08005G).
