HELLO: H.323 Telephony over QoS Networks

Description

In general this project deals with the adaptation of H.323 to networks which are capable of quality of service (QoS). Thereby two focal points are tacked. On the one hand the patentability to broadcast H.323 media streams via arbitrary QoS-capable networks shall be created. For that purpose a standardized interface between the H.323 protocol stack and the underlying transport provider for media transport is implemented. The interface serves to configure all protocol specific information for H.323 transparently. Further information on used codecs are employed in order to identify eligible QoS parameters for the network protocol.

Another emphasis is put on minimizing the delay produced by end systems. Therefore eligible scheduling methods are deployed.
